Code of Ethics

USHAA Ambassadors, Affiliates, Officers, Directors and employees ("member") are bound by a Code of Ethics. If violated, the member in question may be brought before the Complaints and/or Discipline Committee.

Each member of USHAA must perform to the highest standards of professionalism. Compliance with the Code of Ethics ensures a level of consistency in all our professional relationships and distinguishes USHAA and its members from other organizations. The focus of ethics in our field of practice is to ensure the interests of Hispanics are protected all times.

Integrity:

All members must conform to USHAA Code of Ethics and the By-laws of USHAA in all professional relationships with others. 

Honesty:

All members must practice truthfulness and fairness in dealing with others, and must not engage in fraud or deceit. Members must disclose any potential conflicts of interest to the USHAA Board before advocating any position to USHAA. Absent a written waiver after full disclosure to the Board of any potential conflict, a member shall recuse himself from any matter where he may have a potential conflict of interest, such as where the member is being employed by a third party on an issue on which USHAA is advocating.

Equitable:

All members must be just, impartial and just in dealings with others. USHAA and members shall endeavor to provide equal time to opposing views and parties on key issues affecting the Hispanic community

Accountable:

Each member must be responsible for his/her own action and conduct. A member maybe required, if necessary, to give account of their behavior to the USHAA Complaints and Discipline Committee.

Obligations:

All members have a duty to others, which compels them to follow the By-laws of USHAA and all regulatory codes and laws and to protect the reputation of the Hispanic community.

Trustworthy:

All members must ensure discretion and confidentiality with regard to all professional relationships with others.
